it's only a few hours to the year 2007!
yest was an interesting and fun day.
went fishing with my brother and his gf yullie in the morning. and nope, i didnt fish ahah. but the stupid fish werent biting, so we went to have lunch at compass kinda earlier than planned. the CHAAI TAO KUEY(carrot cake) at the kopitiam in compasspoint is oh sooooooo good. it's the best i have ever tasted.
went to meet keong and samp in orchard to get keong's crumpler. matt, dom, quee and daryl joined us at serangoon afterwards. we ate, pooled. till bout 12.45am.HAHA. and i had to go cause my dad was kp-ing.
i'm too darn lazy to blog today. sorrie!

Well, today it rained. then the rain stopped. then it rained. then the rain stopped. then it rained,stopped,rained,stopped. and now it's raining again. heck, there was even a thunderstorm during the day! the news just now said that it was like the highest rainfall in 75 years ijn Singapore. that's quit alot of rain.
well i hope the rain stops soon.apparently macritchie reservoir is now flooded. if continues to rain like this we cant go for training. and i WANT TO GO, cause it's like the last 3 trainings of the year!!!!!
been rotting at home the past few days. watching tv and doing SOME homework.
CHRISTMAS IS COMING! whoo hoo. well it's both good and bad.
GOOD in that we get to receive gifts and celebrate, which is loads of fun.
BAD in that it means school is coming soon, and that's BAD with a capital B-A-D as next year there's this teeny weeny exam called the A-levels.

woah. have not updated in ages.
hmmm.. first things first. had a canoeing expedition last week. lasted four days from monday to thursday.gonna give a blow by blow account from what i can remember.
day one:monday
alright, this day was just a plain waste of time.but it was abit fun though. firstly, it started at 6PM. how crap is that. what camp starts right smack in the middle of the evening?? anyways, met up at changi sea sports club. had dinner at some nearby coffee shop with some canoeing peeps. well at least the food was not bad. chicken rice. MMMMMMM. anyways after that we basically played some icebreaker games to get to know the NYAA people. quite a fair number of them, they were nice people. slept in the club at about 12, if i remember correctly. open air, no air con. walao. was already starting to miss my comfy bed. didnt manage to get much sleep. mainly due to the fact that there were many ^$@#^#$^#%&%^ PUNKS wondering about outside the club making loads of noise. and there was this bloody motorcycle which woke many of us up in the middle of the night with its stupid loud engine.
day two:
woke up a fair bit earlier than the rest to bathe and prepare my stuffs. most of the people had already bathed the night before in the club so there werent many people awake early. then this thing happened. the showers were further away from the toilet, so i sleepily walked into the first bathroom i saw, and it was empty. i had just started bathing when suddenly i heard pei han,jenny and mel's voice in the toilet.i looked at the wall. what was a PINK wall doing in a guy's shower? then it dawned upon me. CRAP. and the three of them confirmed my suspicions. i was in the girls shower!!!!!! luckily there were only three of them there and they were quite ok about it. and LUCKILY i didnt walk out of the cubicle wrapped in a towel looking like some pervert. phew phew phew. laughed about it with them and walked out with my face feeling very hot. anyways i found out that it was actually a blessing in disguise cause the boys shower didnt have seperate cubicles. and it wasnt really a big deal anyway cause the boys used to invade the girls showers all the time when we trained in kallang. of course nothing naughty happened. haha.
ok anyways we all freshened up and had some safety orientation briefing from the exp people. we set off in a fat ass doubles canoe which was slow^10. i partnered jade! she was quite funny and tried her best to row, could see that. lunched at punggol jetty. by this time everyone was like half-dead. partnered janice after lunch. she was dam tired, and i ended up doing most of the rowing. but ahh, cant blame her. no worries janice! in the end we rowed like about 25km from changi to sembawang. reaching sembawang was heaven for us. we were like lifeless mechanical people rowing endlessly by then. beaching up was crap. it was low tide, and once we stepped out of our canoe, our feet sank into the soft mud. with every step our feet sank into the mud. everyone's mood started to sink. some people even fell down while carrying the canoe back with their partners cause their feet had sunk too deep into the mud and they couldnt pull it out.
we had dinner at the beach, then just we were washing ourselves with some pipe, a thunderstorm came. we all hid under some bridge for shelter. by this time everyone's morale had sunk to an extreme low. and it got even worse when people started opening their bags and finding their ipods and handphones to be soaked. everyone's face was like dead by then. the garbage bags around their bags and ziplock had leaked water through. my stuff was abit damp, but it wasnt damaged.
EVEN WORSE, we found that we had to trek about 1km just to reach the showers in sembawang park. we had no choice but to do it and was a really crappy walk with many of us getting mosquito bites.
the feeling of showering was pure bliss for me. it felt good to clean up after being all wet and soggy for such a long time. we dragged ourselves back to the bottle tree village(where the beach was). there was some restaurant there and we were told that the owner had allowed us to sleep there for the night for shelter. one thing i respect about our canoeing captain justin. his stuff all got soaked through, including his clothes,belongings and his n73. it was barely two months old and it was destroyed. but he recovered extremely quickly and rose to lead us again, and that was something which all the expedition members respect.
had some bitching session with my group shortly after. but ahh, what was said there stays there,so ohwells. played some games, in which apparently i lost and had to do some crap forfeit which was extremely embarassing. slept in some corner of the restaurant and was knocked out all the way till morning.
day three:
woke up at about 6am and freshened up. we were told that yesterday was the most gruelling day and that we did not have to canoe as much today. seeing that i was dying from rowing the day before,i got a new partner leonard. very nice guy. and when we started rowing, HOO BOY. i have only one word to describe that feeling: SHIOK. we were ahead of the pack most of the time like some turbo charged maniacs and even had time to race with some pairs. haha. we kept overtaking the expedition leader until he was quite irritated i think.everyone rowed quite fast too. they even had to extend the route for us so that we werent too ahead of time. when we reached pasir ris beach, leonard and i were like "HUH REACH ALREADY AR". lol.
we played some games after beaching up, then pitched up our tents. the teachers were kind enough to book a pit for us, so we had a barbeque. the chicken wings were GOOD. played more games after that, including pictionary. it was damn fun and exciting. clement and sue-maine were in charge. GOOD JOB GUYS.
after the games, we bathed,then headed to some area where we had reflections. it was quite touching, and it definitely brought us closer together.
after that, at about 1am, we headed to the nearby macs and chatted abit, until everyone started getting sleepy and we all headed back slowly in small groups. i tried to stay awake but got ko-ed at 4.30am. slept in the tent. some smart people were fast enough to chope the park benches to sleep on, which were much more cooling with the occasional winds rather than in an enclosed tent with a mosquito net-like covering.
day four:
woke up two hours later feeling like some zombie. washed up and had breakfast. we were all so tired. we then set off on our canoes. apparently, we all rowed so fast that in 20 min we had rowed what was supposed to be accomplished in an hour i think. we had arrived back at changi sea sports club. again, leonard and i were like "WTH SO FAST FINISH". washed up the boats and cam-whored abit with natalie's phone taking pictures with everyone haha. and by this time i had become so TANNED that i had two new names: xiao hei and jelani(canoeing indian senior).idiots.
dad picked nathaniel and i up and dropped nat at compasspoint so he could take the mrt home to serangoon.
when i reached home, i was so tired that i slept from 3pm-12am, woke up to eat abit, then slept all the way to about 10am. SONG BO.
and that was the canoeing expedition for you. goodness my fingers are cramping up on me.
went back to training on sat, it was ok.
on sun, watched DEJA VU with gerard,olive,shawn,yo and hancai. everyone please go catch that show, it's really good. had to rush back home after that to attend some relative's wedding at WaterView hotel. the food was good. and everyone kept asking why i was so black. zzz. it's TANNED BROWN OK.
class bbq yesterday! it was at gerard's house. dam big la his house.quite a good turnout. mr yee our home tutor came too. it was really fun. and i got to try out gerard's $3400 bike. UBER ZAI MAN. the bycicle ride of my life. super fast, very responsive, etc etc. had a nice chat with gerard at the bus stop. DUDE WE SHOULD DO IT MORE OFTEN HAHA. managed to catch the last bus home. had a conference later with yo,gerard,pamela(phong),xin ying. dam funny la, kept laughing like one moron.
basically rotted at home today. lol.
